I hadn't even heard of his name before today. This song is featured in Maurice Pialat's A Nos Amours, more on that later. (The lyrics here. While watching the film, I thought the song was in German!)

I discovered him only recently. He was really something. comment on Youtube says that it was one of his last public appearances, he died a few months after this performance.
